Well it is complicated actually because many people who identify as 'mixed' (mestizo) are actually natives. It's a culture thing. 'Natives' (indígenas) are those who speak an indigenous language and they are indeed a minority.

mexican isnt a race, its a nationality. they think another nation is "invading the US". i'm latino and just because we found this land first doesnt mean we own it or are the only people with the right to live here. btw, the majority of mexicans are mestizo which is a mixture between spanish(europeans) and native americans so no we have european blood in most of us. only like 30% can really say they are mexicans who were here first.

just like my ancestors i dont really believe anyone owns land. the reality of the situation is that when the US came into california, nuevo mexico and texas, there was no fight really. we wanted to be american because the mexican government was **** and centralized all the way in mexico city leaving them useless to the issues of texas and california and nuevo mexico. there was a revolution going on and even mexicans didnt want to fight in their president's army leaving them vulnerable to the US's expansion and it was welcomed. americans had rail roads that could transport people faster and better handle the problems that we had in the southwest of america.

mexico city couldnt respond to invasions by native raiders because the fastest they could travel was by horse and they had their own problems with their crappy governing.


btw, actual native americans(full blood natives) hated mexicans just as much as they hated the whites. mexicans did the same things to them that americans wanted to do. take land and make them work in the missions and convert them from their ancestor's religions to catholocism.

Mexicans have mostly white DNA as well, they don't have THAT much Native American DNA in them.

And even "white Americans" and "African Americans" usually have a bit of Native American DNA in them.

If you're going to twist these facts and say "Well, Mexicans have more Native American DNA than people from the US on average so they're more entitled to move into the country" then that's ridiculous imo. THAT is what racism really is!

It shouldn't be a race issue imo, it should be a nationality issue. What country people belong to... I do believe that people should be able to change what country they belong to during their lives, but you can't let everybody into the world join any country they want whenever they want, it would be chaos. Imagine if 20 million Europeans decided they wanted to become Nigerian, Nigeria would become a mess and their culture, customs and way of life would be under threat. There have to be rules imo. Most importantly, the people wanting to move to a new country should somehow have to prove they really love the country they want to become a part of and will adapt a reasonable amount to the way of life there.

Well in comparison to other natives, there's a lot more indigenous people in Mexico alone than there are in the U.S. & Canada combined.

Our family consider ourselves Mexican AF but most of us are White. I've only seen a few indigenous Natives from Mexico and the ones that Hollywood likes to hire to portray Mexico as natives.

I was referring to the pure indigenous population, which, as you said, is a minority.

Mexico does not ask for race in the census, and even if they did people do not see themselves under the lens of a 'genetic' race--more like ethnicity. So yeah, if your native language is Spanish you're a 'mestizo' even if you have little to no Spanish in your ancestry. The CIA or some US organization said that 30% of Mexicans are 'pure natives' (only like 2% of Mexicans are monolingual in a native language) but I have no idea how they got that information, it sounds very empirical.

I don't agree about illegal immigrants, say whatever you want but everything should be done legally

No wall is ever happening. Why do people think the border is just open and people walk in, there's literally already like 30 foot high fences lining most of it with security to match, people just find other routes

It is a race issue because racist white Americans made it one. Also where are you getting this info that Mexicans hardly have any native DNA?? Literally most of the Mexican population is either half native or fully... whites and those with mostly white ancestry are very much so a minority there, one that holds most of the wealth, power, and privilege.
