As a US citizen based on pop culture references/identifiers:
1) Mexico (Food & drinks (whew, queen Tequila ), Mariachi music, clothing etc)
2) Spain (Art & Literature (Picasso, Dali, Cervantes etc), historical figures (mostly explorers like Columbus , Ponce de León etc), bullfighting, Flamenco and so on)
3) Cuba (music, architecture/aesthetic and classic 50s era cars, cigars)
This actually seems accurate.
I was stuck between choosing whether to put Argentina or Cuba in third place but I think Cuba is a bit more iconic due to Fidel Castro and Cuban cigars alone.
I'll have to change my vote to Mexico - Spain - Cuba
So reading through this thread most people agree with Spain, Mexico, and Argentina with Colombia closing in on Los PseudoEuropeos. My list for the top ten would be

Puerto Rico (feliz navidad alone )

Dominican Republic
Panama
Chile gets an honorable mention. Sadly the rest are pretty irrelevant though Costa Rica is known for its natural beauty
