No the article is trying to make a big deal about her helping him and the guy is just stating that that's what marriage is supposed to be about in the first place
I don't think anyone should devote their lives to anyone. That's kinda unealthy.
But if by devote their lives he means helps in times of needs then no.
Are you saying that a spous shouldn't be devoted to the well being of their spouse ? If that's the case they shouldn't be married
You should be devoted to them, but to devote your life to something kinda implies you make it your #1 priority, which is NOT something I think is required in a healthy marriage.
I can't sympathize 2 devoting my life to someone else but that's what marriage is. As long as it's mutual I don't think that viewpoint is misogynistic at all.

Plenty of people consider their partner to be their #1 but it doesn't mean they are being obsessive or neglectful of anything else by default.
