I don't hate those people by any means, but it's just kinda redundant of a sentiment. Clearly we'd all love peace in some form but with 8 billion on such a tiny planet that will clearly never be a reality.
We're taught that believing in good is naive and cynicism is cool, a hallmark of true adulthood. I'm an optimist and no matter what setbacks we face, I believe that we're going to get better, that we are getting better, even if we can't always see it (especially these days). And I don't see what's helpful or admirable in shaking one's head and talking down to people who aren't giving up on the world. Believing in peace and the possibility of peace doesn't mean you're not realistic about the problems the world faces. But your spirit is not going to be conquered by those problems, either.
America believes in war, they think they can win all of them on other peoples land to save their economy, so its hard for them to understand the people who want peace.
