Does Madonna have the most classics?
I know Mariah, Cyndi, Whitney, Celine etc. all have a song that's bigger than any Madonna song, but in terms of the numbers of classics, is Madonna the female GOAT? I think Whitney is a close second.
Holiday
Like A Virgin
Material Girl
Into The Groove
Like A Prayer
Vogue
Hung Up (outside the US)
And I don't abuse the word of "classics", songs like Music, Frozen etc. were all huge smash hits, but I don't think they're instantly recognizable by the GP so I won't consider them "classics"

Madonna: Vogue, Like A Virgin, Like A Prayer
Whitney: IWALY and I Have Nothing
Mariah: No true classics in the same caliber as IWALY, Like A Virgin, Vogue, etc. The closest is probably Hero. But even that is stretching it. Many hits but no cigar.
Celine: [Insert Mariah's situation here]
Whitney and Madonna are close, but I give Madonna the edge simply for the fact that her legacy isn't highly concentrated on one era/album.
Edit: Switched IWDWS for I Have Nothing.

I genuinely believe that songs like Ray Of Light and Music really do number among her list of true classics.
Anyway, yeah, I think she has them all beat. Not for nothing do we call her the Queen.

Honestly, I'd add at least three or four more to that list.
But yes, she does.

It's really sad that Take A Bow and Secret are forgotten
Take A Bow should have been a worldwide classic ala Don't Speak.

You can't forget Aretha
Respect
Natural Woman
Think
I Say A Little Prayer (her rendition has over 40M views on YT)
Hell one could add songs like Chain Of Fools, I Never Loved A Man and Daydreaming to the mix.

Janet:
Rhythm Nation
If
All For You
Control
Nasty
Love Will Never Do
That's The Way Love Goes
Escapade
Her and Madonna probably have the most classics out of the female artists that came out that era

If you considered I Have Nothing then Saving All My Love' For You should certainly be in the mix. It was the bigger hit WW. Greatest Love of All is also a certified Classic song.

You're lying to yourself if you think those are Whitney's only classics. Where is I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Greatest Love Of All, Saving All My Love for You and I'm Every Woman?
Mariah also has a few classics. Have you heard My All, Without You and more?
You are deluded if you think Celine has no classics.
