Like all these social media challenges? Do they not have anything better to do? Social media has made people become obsessed with trying to go "viral" and getting their 15 minutes of fame.

Not at all. I'd rather teens be channeling their energy and creativity into challenges rather than doing hard drugs or committing crimes. It's just innocent fun. We used to do dumb challenges and stuff when I was a teen too, they just weren't on the internet.


If it's something harmful like the Kylie Lip challenge or that one where you knockout a random person on the street, that's obviously a different story.

Some of them are annoying, and some of them I don't have a problem with.
The mannequin challenge was cute and made Closer lose it's #1 spot.
Then there are the weird challenges. I heard about this one called "Andy's Coming" where somebody shouts Andy's Coming and then everyone drops down on the floor. The Kylie Jenner challenge was horrible as well.
Also yesterday I saw this challenge on Twitter called the #GreySweatpantsChallenge where you stick big objects in your sweatpants and take a picture The only thing I wanna see in grey sweats is a *****!

No. Well the older challenges like the Cinnamon challange was stupid. But the Running Man and Mannequin Challenge was just simple fun. Might as well drag people for playing cards, having a drinking game, watching a popular TV show, etc.

More fun than standing in the corner and having a stick up your ass about everything. lol

I didn't say it had to be either or. Of course there are other ways to channel energy, but our generation's playground is the internet. Memes and viral videos are a huge part of the culture now just like things like Myspace were when I was a kid. It's how they connect and interact socially. And partaking in internet challenges does not preclude you from other productive outlets either.
