If you have a penis, you are a boy and go to the boys bathroom. If you have a vagina, you are a girl and go to the girls bathroom. That's it. Simple isn't it?

These aren't lonely 19-year-olds who spend their lives on tumblr and waste their degrees studying the many varieties of gender... These are 8- to 11-year-old children who will identify as male or female. Give them their own toilets. Forcing this liberal agenda on them at this age could have serious impact on them. It only reinforces from a younger age that this non-binary idiocy actually matters, and isn't just coming from the dreams and online ramblings of people who didn't fit in at school.

I don't get why someone would have an issue with this

If we are civilized mature humans, why would be a problem going to a bathroom with males, females or whatever?
Do your thing and leave. It's not that serious.

I would only allow this if everyone in that school is okay with such bathrooms and act in a civilised manner without bullying/making fun of each other and use the bathroom for its true purpose.

Bullying can happen in male/female only bathrooms too.

Exactly
Penis, Butts, and Vaginas are all considered private parts, and most people go to great lengths to keep these hidden. However, these are usually exposed when using the restroom.
The majority of the population is heterosexual. Most boys could care less about another boy's butt or penis (because they have one), most girls could care less about a girls vagina, which is why I'm sure most people feel comfortable using separated bathrooms. I could see girls and boys being tempted to look at their peers private parts out of curiosity, which, as AvrilQueen has pointed out, opens the door wide open for bullying and increased self-esteem issues.

Yes I can totally see an eight year old child scaling a full height stall out of nothing but curiosity to peep another child's private parts
It's easier for a child to just walk into the men's, as they currently are, and peep a boy at the urinal

my uni introduced gender neutral toilets
before that guys would piss in the sinks rather than wait for a toilet to be free on club nights
but they wont in front of girls
silver lining

Do you only see public toilets when watching adult videos or something?
You don't walk in and chose the chamber pot in the middle of the floor that you prefer, things called stalls exist and the vast majority of toilet users will only undo their trousers once the doors on the stalls are closed and they are alone. Urinals clearly do not belong in a unisex toilet and presumably they won't be there.
As someone who finds Tumblr special snowflakes hilarious, I don't see any problem here. Kids that age don't need to be separated because they're too young to be sexual. It's nothing to do with making everything gender neutral, it just saves money and space. In a perfect world where creepy old men who can't be trusted alone with a woman don't exist there isn't really any reason to have separate toilets. We're all in there to quickly do our business in private and then leave. I assume the school has a rule against adults being in the kids toilet regardless of gender.
The only issue I see is that they might be confused why they're segregated in the real world/once they hit puberty. Boys that age are taken into women's toilets by their mums all the time anyway, so it's not a massive deal.

Same sex toilet is not a good idea because most males are disgusting with their hygiene, like peeing with the toilet seat on.

Yes, teaching innocent kids gender equality at a very young age is such a toxic lesson. God forbid they teach them that Jane can be with Jane and Dick can be with Dick too. We don't want that excessive US school bulling and those youth suicide rates to go down, do we?

Ms Wheeler is inviting parents to tour the new facility, and is reminding people that single-sex toilets will also still be available.
‘No pupil has to use a unisex toilet if they do not want to,’ she said.
|
Even still I don't think there should be unisex bathrooms in schools, period.

I don't like the concept of gender-neutral washrooms. They introduced some into my school and it felt really awkward seeing girls doing their thing while I peed

Because little girls and boys who are going through puberty and body changes, etc that they don't even fully understand themselves should not be forced to use the same bathrooms
What even is wrong with yall. Little boys should not have to use the same bathrooms where girls are throwing out their pads and tampons And little girls should not have to deal with their first period with the boy theuy have a crush on in the next stall over
Stuff like that is personal and quite embarrassing. This new PC culture is SUCH a mess If you want to identify as what you want fine but don't try and force it on everyone. Boys and girls ARE different (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc) whether yall want to believe it or not. There is no need for this

Children learn now what they will put into practice as adults. If they're used to separated private spaces as children, they'll want and expect to use them as adults. If they're taught that there is nothing different between males and females, then they'll likely protest the idea of segregated bathrooms when they mature, as they will sincerely believe the lessons they were taught as children. Boys going through puberty, who are sexually attracted to girls, will honestly believe that they have the right to be in the immediate presence of an undressed woman (and vice versa). The forced elementary unisex bathroom is just one step in the race to gender-neutralism.
This has everything to do with indoctrination and very little, if anything, to do with saving money.
The goal here seems to be to teach children that there is no difference between males and females, that everybody is the same, which while sounds nice, is a complete and utter lie. Men can't have children, women can. The average woman is physically weaker than the average man. Men and women are different. This is a fact. People are only deluding themselves if they think otherwise.
Gender equality is treating and respecting both genders equally. The best way to do that is to acknowledge and respect their differences. It's to acknowledge that it wouldn't be fair for a female boxer to fight a male boxer, as the odds are in the male's favor. In many cases, separating genders is the greatest expression of gender equality.

I don't understand why they would go out of their way to make unisex bathrooms?

She said the full-height unisex toilets created a safe space where pupils show respect towards each other and feel respected, according to the East London and West Essex Guardian.

I find that their argument is too vague. I don't understand how this increases respect.
EDIT - nvm they also have same-sex toilets there as well. Seems like they're giving the children options rather than forcing this upon them.
