People in the music industry are speculating that Kanye West was put on a psychiatric hold to recoup insurance money for the millions he would lose by backing out of his “Saint Pablo” Tour.
“He had just canceled for no reason, no injury, no force majeure, so they were going to lose a bunch of money,” said a music insider. “Kanye is crazy, but not crazy enough to not get his insurance money. [He] knows what he is doing.”
According to TMZ, West’s carrier will pay him and the people he owes in the event that “accident or illness . . . prevents any Insured Person from appearing or continuing to appear.”
I believe it. Kanye had serious mental issues, but he's also in a ****-ton of debt. He's locked into a contract with TIDAL, his fashion line is not profitable, and his album sold nothing. Not too hard to believe. His last tour was also a commercial failure, so he can't afford to rack up much more debt.
My uncle told me that about Selena's tour, that she keeps cancelling because her illiness obligates her insurance to cover the tour costs for her so they don't even think twice. Kanye is probably sick too, but he will have to give proof he is sick and that's why he accepted to be hospitalized

I'm referring to if he was faking it to doctors they would know he wasn't actually mentally ill, Not buying them off or something ,that wouldn't be scamming them .
He definitely has some mental illness, and it's sad that people and news sources are trivializing it because it's Kanye. He's an absolutely phenomenal artist and no one can deny that. Sure, he has some issues, but no one will take that away from him.
