Yes ofc, but someone being more disadvantaged than you doesn't mean that they can't have some issues. If that were the case (no offense to you) but we could all keep pointing at the situation in Africa and keep saying, they have it worse so gays ladies and POCs, stop complaining. I'm just sayin, men have issues too and I'm gay so I should hate straight men the most.

2 & 3. That's not true, a small proportion getting radicalized does not reflect the entirety of feminism.

If that is true, then I truly don't feel comfortable anymore spending time in a place where behaviours like Meninism/MRA are normalized, defended and even mentioned, especially not in a space where I'm expecting people to talk about Atheism and what relates to it with rational thought process.

Everyone has issues. The point basically is when a group of people say homosexuals or women or poc present their issues, normally there's another movement with strange and ambiguous motives that springs up e.g religious bigots, white lives matter etc. The point is that for straight men to think they're so disadvantaged and targeted as a group just strikes me as ludicrous but even then every person has the right to air their grievances

Ofc, statistically speaking they are the least likely to be victims of prejudice or hate crimes if any at all. I would never dream of arguing the opposite. Women are much more disadvantaged and so are gays and POCs. Ofc let's not forget that gays and POCs are racial and sexual minorities, they still belong to men or women so feminist issues and mens issues affect all of them. Black straight men for example are also disadvantaged by mens issues and then have the added disadvantages of a POC too and vice versa with women and black women + lesbians.

Please inform me about how there is a war on women in the Western world.
Women face distinctive disadvantages in society but so do men.
Different issues but neither group is oppressed.

Yet you are comfortable judging everyone who advocates for men's rights because of the extremists?

If you can't handle topics that you don't like then that's on you and no one is forcing you to read or participate in this thread ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

Speaking of MRAs lately I really enjoy watching videos by Karen Straughan.
She has a really interesting perspective and I really enjoy hearing her talk.
Anyone who thinks all MRAs are somehow misognystic pigs should look her up and maybe expand their view a little.

Actually what I was going for was that feminists and MRAs both have the same agenda in theory which is equality but for some reason can't team up. It's kind of like how if you ask everybody if they want world peace they say yes, yet somehow we are so far from it. I had no intention of sparking this debate on who is right or wrong since I am not aware of activities of any of the groups as of late aside from the hate one of them has for video games and Richard Dawkins.

I agree that certain discriminations cut across different groups but can you give me a men's issue that Is only specific to men?

For example in custody battles (I'm speaking in here ofc not sure about US law) The guy can be the only provider in the family, be a respectable member of the community but he still wont get the custody of the child unless he proves that the mother is a psychopath that will not only be unfit to take care of the child but also cause harm to him. This cuts through to straight white men, POCs and I guess in some way to gays as well who still marry women.

No way does that make sense. Certain men are disadvantaged but not because they are male which is the point, women are discriminated against because they are women.

If this wasn't blanketed with their other agenda then I would see the sense in it. If anything this is an effect of patriarchy in society as it is that men should be providers and women nurturers. But the MRA obviously is a group that sprung about with a a movement based on equality hence why it developed after the second wave of feminism began.

Yeah they basically say men are the ones disadvantaged. They have been criticized several times over the years. They are far more than custody issues and parental support.

Yes I get this now. If they argue that men are disadvantaged but women aren't then it's clearly a flawed and wrong view of the world.

- harsher prison sentences
- disadvantages in custody battles
- paying child support for children that aren't yours
- disadvantages in divorces
- men make up most suicide victims
- hardly any shelters for men who are victim of domestic violence
- domestic abuse against men isn't taken seriously on a societal level
- make up most victims of violent crims such as murder and theft
- men make up the majority of homeless people
- men make up majority of work related deaths, work in the most dangerous jobs
- the draft
- circumcision still being legal in Western world

These are some points from the top of my head and I don't even follow the MRA community closely.

That's not true for many MRAs and a generalisation. These people definitely exist but again saying "all MRAs" is inaccurate.
