i guess it is a generational attitude, a lot of people fetishize being oppressed for some reason. Hence all the unecessary categories nowadays
I don't align with all of Anne Coulter's views (or really any tbh), but I do try to be open minded and welcome opposing viewpoints and what I read in one of her books a while back was pretty strong and accurate.
If you're interested/have the tolerance to pick out the truth from the bulllshit. Lol
But basically, it's not so much of a fetishization as it is social reinforcement. We REWARD people who frame themselves as victims. And in many cases, it's not warranted. It's more manipulation.
Just think, if someone complains about their life to you, you either believe them the first time, or if you don't, and they keep complaining, you become uncomfortable to the point where you'll say/do things to get them to stop complaining. It's basically a tool we all have from childhood and how we forced our parents to listen. It works for a reason and amounts to emotional blackmail.
I think this is why a lot of people lash out at whites for clamouring about experiencing racism.
It's just feels so...empty...
I don't deny that people can be "racist" against whites, but it's dishonest to attempt to draw equivalency given the disparate impact it has had on minorities over decades.
Minority: "You broke my leg. "
Majority: "Well you tripped me. So I guess we're even. "
oh god, this video reminded me of how much I hated christians before. There are still dumb christians out there, but televangelists especially were the absolute pits!
still gagging over the "banana fitting perfectly into our hand" part
Remember the guy that disproved evolution with a jar of peanut butter? He opened it and looked into it as if he was gonna pull a giraffe or a dog out of it
Ikr? How hard it is to understand it. I'm a citizen, you're a citizen. As long as you do not use your beliefs to limit my rights, you can believe whatever you want. Is being secular really such a difficult concept to grasp?

You're right there is definitely no collective equivalency but there is an individual one.
A racist black person is just as terrible as a racist white person.
The effects as a whole are obviously not nearly comparable but on an individual level these people are the same in my eyes.

Extremists on the left have abused the population's sympathy towards people groups for a long time now. That's why there are no academic controls in place in majors such as gender studies which would call them out for using inaccurate and biased statistic and textbooks but out of fear to attack these people they stay quiet. That's why the mere idea of talking about men's struggle results in laughter from members of a political parliament..
Because these people have a very clear vision of what people groups constitute as victims and which don't. The former group has the right to feel victimised by virtually everything ,such as costumes on Halloween, while the latter doesn't get to complain about anything even when they try to discuss serious issues, such as alarming suicide rates among men.
Yes and why is it that MRA is considered a hate group when Feminist organizations are not. Both of them say they fight for equal rights. Men having alarming suicide rates, being completely on the losing side when it comes to divorce and custody rights has always seemed weird to me They have issues too, not every straight man is a rich fat cat in a penthouse
MRAs are a bunch of insecure, low-life, sexist, misogynistic, alt-right (yes, I'm bringing this up), unsuccessful, sad, lonely, neglected, whiny, Nazi-like individuals who throw fits at everyone because a company stopped making their favorite computer game.
1. There is no "war on boys".
2. Meninism is synonynous to sexism.
3. Feminism wants women to be equal to men.
4. Yes, MRA are a hate group.

Colonization + Christianity really ****ed us up. I can't believe all these African countries opposing a UN expert on LGBT issues. I should be used to it at this point but I guess am not.
Then when Orlando happened almost all African countries were silent and they didn't condemn what happened, how very "christian" and "moral" of them. People being scared of gay marriage when there's a punishment by death laws in 4 countries, ugh

It's really awful. My country was almost the same after the fall of USSR. But since Russia remains a threat, we are desperate to get into NATO and EU and that is forcing us to try and be more westernized. Unfortunately it's not working and sometimes even backfiring
EDIT: Heckling, were you being ironic or serious, I really couldn't tell
Is this concerning Orlando or death sentence? If Orlando actually middle east countries from Saudi Arabia to Afghanistan condemned it just the African countries remained silent on it.

There are definitely many of them who are as pathetic as most feminists today but there are some who want to have serious discussions but they are shut down by default.
