Religion, like people's sexuality, is no one's business but your own.
Eh the problem is that Religion is ultimately a choice and some stuff they actually do force on the population (marriage, abortion, etc.). The only thing about being gay is the fact that it makes people uncomfortable.
i don't think insulting people for their religions really gets you anywhere with people, because once you insult something that personal to them i doubt they'll have any desire to listen to you. so it's pretty counterproductive. also, religious institutions do good things for a large number of people (as well as bad things for a large number), so i don't think looking down on them is entirely fair.
i also think that people who insult religious people as being irrational should really ask themselves if they have no irrational beliefs themselves, because i'm sure they do. not to say you shouldn't question anything, but looking down on people for that is pretty smug and dumb to me.
that said, i also think it's ridiculous the attitude some people have that you should respect and never insult any and all spiritual beliefs, no matter how out there they are. like, i'm not going to sit here and respect scientology and "live and let live" with people who believe that garbage without ever calling it out.
You should respect a persons right to believe in a religion just like they should respect yours not to. Criticism is fine and needed imo as long as it doesn't border into insulting for either party. .
Yes, Christianity based on New Testament is different because Jesus loves all, He even said in the Bible that some were naturally born as they are and can't be changed and some were gays because of social life and influence he got from environment.
He never said being gay is sin, it is what it is.
So if you find any Christians who bashed on gay and homosexuality, they are only hate the idea of himself, herself having sex with same gender.
I don't care about people's beliefs as long as they don't affect my life. Lol. I believe in separation between church and state. Their beliefs are none of my business. Certain aspects of Islam definitely have no place in a modern western world though. It needs reform big time. Christianity and Judaism already had their reformation periods.
I'm glad religion's finally dying out.
