As we all know, A-YO was originally announced as the second single off Joanne but Million Reasons later took its place after it got a stronger sales boost from Carpool Karaoke. Now, it is becoming increasingly less likely that Million Reasons will top its current Hot 100 peak at #57 (due to minimal radio support and lukewarm audience response). Would A-YO have fared better as the second single?

No. A-YO would do much worse.

NO. It should not have been the second single. It sucks and was destined to flop as it is. I get that its high energy and she seems to enjoy performing it, but was it a wise single choice in this climate? Hell no. I mean honestly its one of her corniest songs. Its this albums Hair or Manicure, both of which were well off remaining album filler. A-Yo should've followed suit.

It wouldn't have made a difference. There's no hit on the album. Which I respect in a way, but let's call a spade a spade.

Besides, Gaga was never like a huge radio force. Radio was never her strength, not even in her prime, and she never really established herself outside of her home format (pop), so since her record has zero pop radio potential, she's left hanging

Million Reasons went to #1 on itunes upon its release as a promotional single after her stint on carpool karaoke. And remained in the top 10 for 2 weeks and has remained in the general 200 ever since.

It was bumped up to third single due to its obvious potential. That being said, its kind of been had already. She'd have been better off choosing something entirely different from the record for 3rd single at this point, something more up-tempo possibly. John Wayne.
