I feel like there is a divide: people who call him a genius and people who feel like he is a loon.
Personally, I feel like he has an overactive mind. That combined with the constant stimulation which is his life, it makes sense why he is the way that he is.
I don't think genius is really a solid term. My definition of genius is someone who's thoughts run wild, to the point that it makes them looney. But eventually their overactive thought process catches onto some aesthetic success, hence Kanye.
hes (was?) a creative talent. the genius talk got to his head and he now feels that he doesnt have to try. now his fans enable his mediocrity and its all he puts out now. he needs a good critical lashing to get him back in formation

He's a man that has a creative talent in rapping and producing music that is mentally ill. The only difference between him and say Mark Ronson or Max Martin is that he's unstable and outspoken (well, minus the rapping part).
No. Sampling someone else's work and putting a different spin on it doesn't make one a genius. Using ghost writers, **** ton of autotune to make up for your lack of vocals does not make him a genius. Does he even play any instruments well?? Has any of his performances been anything to write home about lately? I mean his music is good but not that good
