I'm the show's number 1 fan and I love her!, her sarcastic personality and her comebacks/shade was the highlight of the show imo!

Dorothy...Blanche, Rose, and Sofia played off of Dorothy's character. When Bea Arthur left the show, they tried it with just the other 3 on a short lived flop spin off called "Golden Palace".
So the show was nothing without Dorothy.
