With all the gloom and doom in the aftermath of the election, it's easy to lose sight of the good things that came out of it.

1) Millennials given the slap in the face they needed after spending their political formative years sheltered under the Obama administration.

2) Enthusiasm for the political process has definitely increased. Expect a serious blowback in 2 years during the midterms. Minorities are still under threat from gerrymandering and voter suppression, but their participation has increased overall.

2) The Democratic Party finally learning the hard way that cooperation with the Republican representation is never going to work because they are just waiting to stab you in the back. Til the Republican party is reformed, the age of cooperation is over.

3) Watching the Trumpanzees buyer's remorse as they suddenly realize how much they ****ed up, with Trump showing his true colors as a conservative establishment. The hype will fade soon enough. Soon their realization of failure will set in. I'll be here reveling in it.

4) The festering pustule that calls itself the alt-right may have burst, but it will soon lose momentum as people abandon it when nothing that they fear nor what they hoped for comes to fruition.

5) The Republican Party has nobody to scapegoat anymore, so all their ****-ups will be their fault and their fault alone. They bashed Obama for everything. They bashed Clinton for everything. That's 8 years of blaming it on the Democrats. No more. They have to take responsibility, but they'll obviously fail to do it.

6) Evangelical Christians have lost their moral high ground by supporting Trump. They've basically lost any credibility on that front.

7) Social media websites finally being held accountable for allowing fake news to rampantly spread on feeds that many people rely on for information, beginning the internet purging of ******** . Also, a crackdown on those who are offensive for the sake of it on Twitter and similar venues.

8) While the presidency was lost, a lot of breakthroughs were made on the Senate level, with representation from the first openly gay legislator in Georgia, first Latina senator (from Nevada), first Muslim woman as a legislator.

9) The kiis and the cackles as Trump messes up time and time again with zero days passing without him being a national/global embarrassment. While it comes at the expense of everything you hold dear, it won't be for lack of entertainment.

10) Mike Pence will soon be outed as a closeted gay man, and after Trump gets impeached we'll have our first out gay president who coincidentally hates all other gay people.

11) We can shove the popular vote in Trump's face for the next 4 years.

The point is that there will be blowback, but not necessarily victories. The "bastions" will be assaulted.

Still, Texas and Arizona were closer than you think. 2 years of a Trump presidency and it's not entirely out of the picture. Nevada is pretty much for grabs at this point. The Democratic party there is starting its campaigning already.

It would take a few victories for the majority to be gained again.

Personally, NJ is getting a Democrat governor now 100% because Christie being Trump's lap dog turned Republicans in my state into absolute jokes, so we'll become like one of five states in the entire county with a fully Democrat, veto-proof state legislature. We'll jump forward with our progress (all the **** Christie has been veto'ing for years will be passed super quick) and NJ is one of the most important economies in the nation. Even if Trump ****s up things like healthcare nationwide, NJ will remain untouched and a prosperous state.

I hope poverty rates in all those ****-eating rust belt states double. Sorry.

I'll be moving to one of those blue states after college tho so it's all good.
