Under certain circumstances. I despise people making stupid comments that are baseless, but at the same time I am happy to make any criticism that I feel is fair, and agree with such criticisms from others.
I don't really care unless they make fun of her rape case as if it's a stan receipt. How low do you have to sink for that to be something you use to win a 'stan war' with?
Im most defensive over Britney, but thats only when people try to make her out to be a bad person when she is the most genuine and sweetest celebs out there
Otherwise, i dont care.. our faves are bad bitches who dont care what people say.. why should i constantly be defending someone who doesnt even know i exist Just enjoy the music
I think every fan has critiques of their fave because they pay so much attention to them. Only the truly delusional think their faves are perfect and don't need to adjust anything. So when you sit down with other fans, you can have a more thoughtful discussion, you can hit on good things and not-so-good things, you can be intelligent.
But when you're dealing with an outsider who isn't interested in having that conversation with you and will often make sweeping statements about an artist without always knowing what they're talking about, sometimes you just snap into stand-up-for-ha mode and you have to match them with sweeping statements of your own. Unfortunately it's not the smartest way to go about it, but it can be frustrating when someone who doesn't have all of the information is content with snap judgments.
