Regardless of policy there are interesting parallels between their rise and I applaud the teacher for engaging in critical thinking. Nobody has said that Trump is as bad as Hitler. Hitler is the symbol for the worst genocide in history, and the face of evil. But there are definitely parallels to note.

Like Hitler, Trump is a radical, authoritarian figure who lies outside the normal parameters of his country’s conservative governing class.

The notion that they wouldn't win the chancellorship/presidency.

Both promised to make _____ great again.

They were both considered buffoons, not serious, and not fit to govern.

Both have a messianic complex; both said that they "alone" would rescue the country.

Upon winning, the belief the responsibility of governing would tame Hitler/Trump, and that his beliefs were malleable and could be shaped by advisers once in office.
