Here in the UK I was offered a place at a red brick and highly ranked uni but declined them for one that's barely in the top 70 of unis in the country. The attitude there was vile and it was the best decision I've ever made. I've now graduated and feel I had a much more enjoyable experience at mine than my friends who went to the one I rejected. Quite frankly, they were there for the name
Besides, just because your uni may not be classed as Ivy League doesn't mean it lugs behind in your particular field.
