It's been a rising trend for businesses to send out surveys for you to complete after every interaction you have with them. They used to be few and far between but I'm sure you notice now that after you order a product online, go to a bank teller, order food, sign up for a membership somewhere, rent a vehicle, even basic in-store purchases, you'll receive an email (sometimes 2 or 3) asking you to rate the service / experience / product you got from them.
I bought a hoodie at H&M the other day and the associate asked me for my email address to send a service survey.
