Harris by FAR. he embodied Dumbledore to the dot. his mannerism, he looked so kind and wise as well. his presence as a whole was more majestic, calming and calming. the other One looks evil.
This. Harris got that aura that just made him THE perfect Dumbledore.

YES! I would have loved to see how he would have been in the later movies when his role got much more interesting.
Richard to me was more like how I pictured Dumbledore in the books, however he was very frail and had he lived on and done all of the films I truly don't know how he would've acted out the battle scenes etc. He had the warmth and kindness of Dumbledore but I think perhaps was slightly TOO kind? And too soft and cute, if that makes sense?
Gambon... Ugh, I actually really dislike his portrayal, he seems cold a lot of the time, something Dumbledore isn't at all (yeah he ignores Harry for a bit but that's about it...) I mean the whole famous scene of him grabbing + screaming at Harry in GOF is literally just the tip of the iceberg imo.
I think they both did great for different reasons.
Richard Harris captured the wise, gentle parts of him while Gambon really fit the powerful, eccentric parts of Dumbledore
