Played 1st by Richard Harris in the first 2 movies , but after his death Harris was replaced by Michael Gambon for the rest of the series.

Michael Gambon's Dumbledore is ICONIC. Richard Harris' Dumbledore was quite boring and bland in the 1st two.

I prefer Richard Harris.

Oh, i forgot to add if any of you guys thought Ian Mckellen would have a better Dumbledore.

Mckellen would have been good imo, but he already had the Gandalf role which was way too similar.

Gambon, but as someone else said, him grabbing Harry in GoF was so NOT a Dumbledore thing to do. He brought a lot more life to the role though, tbh.

I prefer Richard. Something about his voice just sounded like and old and caring wizard. Also he sounded much wiser and not the chainsmoking nasally mess that Gambon sounds like

Gambon destroyed it in GoF and was never able to gain fans' support ever since. Although in HBP he was great.
Richard Harris was fitting for the first two parts. Sadly we'll never know how he would've managed the rest, but I believe he would have been better.

Harris by FAR. he embodied Dumbledore to the dot. his mannerism, he looked so kind and wise as well. his presence as a whole was more majestic, calming and calming. the other One looks evil.

Michael Gambon's version is badass as Dumbledore should be
