about one-third of Libyans live at or below the national poverty line
Sorry your desperation to make Gaddaffi look like a good leader isn't working on me (What kinda good leader gets in with a coup then stays there for decades while executing anyone who'd form a new political party? ) Its neighbor, with the FAR lower GDP, Morocco has 15% of residents living below the national poverty line just like America. That's how much he stiffled his nation but keep on sipping the kool-aid and convincing yourself that the people liked him and only terrorists celebrated his death
Everyone knows the rebel groups turned on each other and that's why I said it is a must to start arming and recruiting the Libyan military under an appointed leader then commit a mass genocide of all extremists (Militant or non-militant ones) in the cities under Islamist control. It may sound cruel but sometimes the best decisions aren't the most popular ones.
I believe in Libya and I believe they can rebuild themselves and reform their constitution like Algeria and Morocco were able to. Unlike you, I'm partly from that region so I actually know my **** first-hand while you're clearly high on Putin propaganda.

First, the link you provided leads to a CIA file, which contains a really inconsistent data. For one country, there is data from the year 2005, for another from 2015. There is no year or date for the information about Libya. There is no exact data (just a general statement implying the situation may be very bad) meaning the exact data couldnt have been retrieved directly, indicating that the table reflects the chaotic situation after Gaddafis regime was overthrown.
Unlike you, Im posting an official report from an official source here for you and everyone to read.
The source: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
Here is their complete report from 2010, a year before Gaddafis regime was overthrown.
You can read a study about how their data were retrieved and weighted, forming a statistic table, ranking each country based on multiple factors (everything from poverty index, gender inequality, social inequality, health care, access to informations to even environmental issues and so on).
http://www.google.sk/url?sa=t&source...uDF1BN6S7FL5uw
You can find the ranking and statistics at the page 142.
Libya is ranked at #53 out of 177 countries, above all other African countries (Morocco being at #114), meaning Libya had very high living standards, the highest in Africa and one of the highest out of ME countries.

Statues? Really? Guess what my country did after soviets freed our cities during the WWII? We built Stalin a nice statue, no matter the war crimes he committed on my people, and everyone loved him. Libyans made several such statues for Gaddafi. That doesnt mean ****.
I have posted here sources of US using forbidden weapons, about them contamining Kosovo with 10 tons of radioactive uran, and you say to me that you are glad they did it? Do you even understand its a war crime?
I understand that you are a hardcore Hillary stan and will blindly defend everything she does, but this was disgusting.
Hillary played an active role and pushed hard for every military conflict for the past 17 years. She is responsible for arming various groups in Syria and Libya, creating and fuelling civil war. Thats warmongering, no matter how you look at it and how much you defend your fave. Bye.
