MOTS produced a hit and sold more in the US than BJ did overall. Not really comparable.

ANYWAY, an underperformance =/= a flop.

600k in 2013 for an established pop star is MUCH worse than 1m in 2005 for a debut teen artist that wasn't the label's priority at the time. Not grasping the comparison.

Only Loud and GGGB were success. The other ones flopped or underperfomed. So...

A flop album is Bionic, Spirit Indestructible, Lotus, Britney Jean, etc = No hits, no album certs

4 has 3 platinum hits. If we are going by your logic then Beyoncé didn't have a flop era because all her eras has platinum hits, platinum album and won many awards. And that's all pure sales.

rated wasnt as big as gggb but the album gave us a darker rihanna. the album went platinum produced 6 flawless singles. 3 of them went top 10 and gave us the worldwide smash rude boy.

talk that talk went platinum gave us we found love which spent 10 weeks at number one and 3 of its singles were nominated for grammys. we found love won a grammy and vma for video of the year.

unapologetic was her first number one album. collected her 12th number one with diamonds. stay was huge and nominated for a grammy. grammy for unapologetic.

anti. spent 2 weeks at number one. 32 weeks in the top 10. certified double platinum. 3rd best selling release of 2016. .work spent 9 weeks at number one. needed me was huge. and the era isnt over yet.

just because gggb and loud were huge doesnt mean her other albums flopped.

shes had a very impressive run. no need to shade my fave to make yours look good.
