It is tempting to think that Tuesday’s disastrous presidential election consigned Hillary Rodham Clinton to footnote-status in the United States’ history, and that the much-prophesised shattering of the highest and hardest glass ceiling will not be accomplished by her. However, Clinton has so far proved one of the most tenacious characters in American political history, and, from what we know of her character, we can rest assured that she has not given up, but is currently hatching a cunning plan for the presidency in her home in Chappaqua.

Let us remember that she is, as it stands, in a strong position, with broad connections and capacious coffers to fall back on. Over the next four years, expect her to entice prospective Democratic nominees like Cory Booker or Julian with her expertise and wealthy donors. She will offer one of these men her full support, provided she is their vice-presidential pick. And the Democratic Party would not need much convincing to nominate one of these men for president. They would succeed where Clinton failed in bringing out the Hispanic and African-American vote in full force, and after her campaign this year it is unlikely the party would be prepared to take a gamble with another woman.

Let us also remember that Hillary Clinton is projected to be well over one million votes ahead of Donald Trump once the final votes have been counted, and is likely to be the second most voted-for presidential candidate in American history, after Barack Obama. She is also one of the country’s most experienced politicians, and would be a surprising yet popular veteran choice for veep in 2020. She would also be able to eschew most of the presidential campaigning – which isn’t her strong suit – and wouldn’t come under as much scrutiny as a result.

Then, once she is in the White House as America’s first female vice president, one small task remains: removing the President. Whether this happens via impeachment or assassination is up to her, but as she is currently still one of the country’s most powerful people, she would easily be able to lay the groundwork for either of these outcomes over the next four years. Then, probably by 2022, Hillary Rodham Clinton would defy all the odds by becoming the 47th President of the United States, and would cement her place in the history books.

Just consider the lengths great historical figures have gone to in order to claim power, and how easy it would all be for her...

In her last speech, she confirmed she's never running for POTUS again and that she hopes to get see the ceiling broken once.
