All devices using batteries have exploded at some point. The problem isn't that they do, it's the scale at which they do.
1 iPhone 7 Plus catching fire out of X million is nothing. Several dozen out of 2.5 million is a problem,
Hence, Samsung had a problem and everybody else is just fine. Your tv remote could catch fire if the AA batteries in it malfunctioned.
