I was curious about the supposedly 'uneven' weighting of the Electoral Votes system so I drew this up.
I calculated the % of EV each state gets compared to its population size. I then compared that to a 'new' Electoral College system in which there are 1000 total votes and each state gets exactly the same proportion of votes as its population.
As you can see, CA and TX are indeed undervalued, and the smaller states are overvalued, but they all exist within a 2% differential and wouldn't have changed the election as you can see on the right.
It will be interesting though if TX were to fall to the Dems as we eventually think it will and there is a close election loss to them, as they could rightly kick up a fuss about them being undervalued.
T-minus 2 months until Trump is sitting on his throne.
Y'all Hillary Clinton supporters should've supported Bernie Sanders in the primaries with his double digit lead over Trump
Speaking of primaries, y'all had no problems with Superdelegates during the primaries but are against the Electoral College now?
She won the popular vote in the primaries so we could care less about the so-called unfairness of the superdelegate system. And there are valid reasons for wanting to abolish the EC given the fact that she won the popular vote and populous states like CA are cheated with the abysmal share of electoral votes they are given in relation to their population.
And we learned this election that polls are completely useless so you using those stale ass polls to predict some Sanders victory is too naive.
You really have to be special to point out the hypocrisy of people's positive reaction to a situation in which the popular vote was also won. I just...

Honestly fascinating. I definitely bet the right would suddenly act brand new with with the EC/popular vote argument when Texas go Blue. I mean there's only so much you can do when you don't have Cali, Texas, and NY totaling 122 electoral votes...
I'll keep you all updated on California numbers, but just consider that it took a month to count the primary ones At this rate, we'll finish after Trump's inauguration day

When Bernie Sanders won a state (Michigan) and Hillary Clinton ended up with 9 more delegates than him, HOW is that fair? That's literally the definition of voter disenfranchisement.
You're just as butt hurt as Bernie Sanders supporters because Hillary lost the presidency to Trump. Maybe next time the DNC shouldn't conspire against a candidate. Right now we could've been celebrating a Bernie Sanders victory. It's their fault.

It's doesn't matter if she gets 23 million more, the state gets 55 electoral votes and Hillary already won those.

I didn't say I was doing it to make a case, I accepted she lost. I just want to see the final tally and national turnout number. Now I'm reading that turnout estimates aren't as low as first thought.
