Pence mattered in the campaign, so he will matter in the administration. Like Dick Cheney before him, he is expected to be a cheerleader, a force in Congress and even the author of policy. It’s significant that his first call to an overseas politician was to Boris Johnson, perhaps making up for the fact that the UK didn’t get an immediate call from Trump after his victory.
That’s the kind of savvy, diplomatic action we should expect from Pence. Because Trump is an outsider, he lacks the usual channels of political communication and deal-making. Pence will be his bridge to the world beyond the White House. ( x )
What do you guys think? Will Mike Pence be playing a bigger role than we imagined?
Yeah. Trump is just gonna take all the heat and more often than not create dramas for the purpose of attention while republicans with Pence are doing trickier things.
