Yes. I live in Texas. There are enough construction people out of work here they would gladly jump on the project. How would he get Mexico to pay for it you ask? Well he doesn't mean Mexico will literally pay cash money for the entire project albeit they probably will give supplies and support and maybe some cash. What Trump likely means is that the wall will halt the illegal flow of money leaving the US to Mexico.

It's a waste of time and money. How deep would it have to go so that it couldn't be burrowed under? We already have a fence and people go over, under, around and through it already.

He can try to build that was all he wants, but the drug lords are going to use tunnels to get under.

It's going to cost a pretty penny to acquire all of the materials (I assume it would be steel and concrete, with barbed wire on top) AND gather all of the manpower needed to build the wall. Not to mention security, and maintenance, just in case there were any vulnerable spots. Want to add another fence outside of the wall? It's going to cost even more. According to Wikipedia, Bush 43 started putting up a security fence at the USA/Mexico border during his tern and couldn't finish it due to the costs associated with it.

Oh, he wants to put the fence on the Mexican side of the border? Add in Land Acquisition costs as well.

It's going to be interesting to see how he does this without raising taxes on the lower and middle class as the Idea of actually making Mexico pay for a wall is ridiculous and quite laughable tbh. If us normal citizens don't want people trespassing on our property, we would have to pay for our own fencing and Home security system by ourselves. What would make the federal government any different if it would pull this kind of stunt. IMO, either of these scenarios had to have happened:

A -Trump views some of the people who voted for him as Morons and only said that to get votes

B -He genuinely believes that we need a wall but failed to come up with an actual plan for how to build it.

C -He genuinely believes that we need a wall and guts existing agencies and programs (like the New Deal programs FDR instituted to pay for it) or

D -He is trolling.
