Because when it comes to mobilizing people for war and doing terrible things in their homeland, it's unfortunately the same for all countries.
In fact it's how the Romans sold their wars to their people.
Democracy and laws won't do a thing, when the population is frightened into changing everything. It's just human psychology of the masses ready to be abused.
This American exceptionalism is such a trip every time I see it
