The waning influence of big establishments on the political decision of the people is only a part of a wider trend, which is what many countries in the world are experiencing. Less people each year identifying with any religion. Less people are going to church. Higher levels of polarization. Trust in big institutions/establishments is down, not just in Hollywood or the media in general. People are increasingly becoming anti-establishment. The world is heading to a communal dissolution.

Yes, most people are able to think for themselves (and it doesn't matter if you think they made the wrong choice). Your favorite celebrity voting for a candidate should not be the reason why you vote for them.

People are missing the point. The celebs weren't powerless. They just had the opposite effect than intended. In fact, the same thing happened with the GOTV. They both backfired.

People voted for Trump BECAUSE of all the things he said not because they didn't know about it.
Efforts to reach out to EVERYONE just ended up having a disproportionate positive impact on Trump.

I never understand why Trumpsters say this. No one is painting a false rhetoric on him - the negative things people say about him are directly related to the exact words that come from his own mouth. There's no reaching or broadcasting unfair conclusions to push a different rhetoric, every rebuttal for Trump is against the exact words he has said. Not a running mate, not his political party, not a surrogate, but he himself. There's no one to blame for this but Trump.

Also, might I suggest removing Gaga from your avi, it really is embarrassing at this point, especially since you don't even like Joanne.

Celebrities and their political endorsements are annoying and pointless. They are also very polarizing. Unless they get down to the gist of what really happened with this election (i.e. considering the fact that working classes are tired of being ignored, that the nation is more fractured than we'd like to admit, that many people chose not to vote for multiple reasons, etc.) then they need to focus on being entertainers. At this point they are really not helping.
