Something I wanted to take a quick look into was how many spins songs gain once they reach #1. So here's that data for each #1 of 2016 on pop (I plan to do other formats as well).
Peak means the day the song reached its spin peak.
Days to peak is the number of days in between the song's first day at #1 and the song's peak (NOT including both of those days).
# of 1%+ gains is the number of times the song gained over 1% of its spins in between when it first reached #1 and when it reached its peak (again, not including both of those days). For context, a 1% gain for a song with 20,000 spins is +200.
Net gain % is the percentage increase from the song's spins on its 1st day at #1 to the song's spins at its peak.
All dates are 2016 except where noted. The asterisk indicates that DLMD lost its #1 spot in between first going #1 and hitting its peak.
