There's about 325 million people in the country alone, and people are just too divided. It had the third largest population after India and China and its still growing! Should the country be split or should the electoral college be gone with? If you get rid of the electoral college that mean s that the rural and middle states get ignored and politicians only campaign in big cities. Either way it's a lose-lose situation.

It's not just that there are a lot of people. It's that they are very different.
You have the racist white people from the middle living like they are in 1850 and then you have people living in the 21st century far more ahead of them and the rest of the world.

Divided? They have pretty much the same culture, coast to coast. If every country had to divide itself because of voting differences then we might as well split every major European country in two as well.

The size and population are just right for a federal union of 50 states.

It's large enough and diverse enough to consist of individual countries. People lead different lives in Alaska, California, Kansas and Florida.

It's too large for the electoral college to make sense anymore. Reliably blue & red states may as well not even bother voting because they'll always vote blue/red. The US should just use popular vote. Makes sense. It's literally what every other democracy does.

There is no such thing as American culture. The entire point of the USA is multiculturalism. Its culture is the amalgmation of subcultures. What many call "American culture' is actually just white liberal culture.

Name: The United West Coast States

Red: right-wing middle nation
Name: The United States of America (the others would be splitting FROM them)

Rusty: centrist working-class flip-flop nation
Name: The United Mid-North States

Green: leftist east-coast states (imagine a general election with Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, etc. )
Name: The United East-Coast States

Pink: The Republic of Florida
