2010 just got a whole lot gayer with news that one of pops most legendary pioneers, Cher, will release a new studio album this year.
Fresh from filming her big screen return with Christina Aguilera in the musical Burlesque, Cher will officially launch her new single “Already Been There” at the World Music Awards on May 18 in Monaco.
The new album will reportedly have a “rock” sound, which a return to form for Cher who scored some of her biggest hits with her rock-tinged stadium anthems like “I Found Someone” and “Turn Back Time”.
“This is going to be by far the most successful album Cher has recorded in her 45 year career,” a rep for the singer announced this week.
That’s a pretty big call since the 63-year-old Cher has sold well over 100 million albums worldwide, but she hasn’t released a new studio album in almost a decade so it’s about time that the Queen returned to give these young women of today a lesson in how it’s really done.
Besides her new album Cher will also appear on the soundtrack to Burlesque, which is rumored to contain a duet between herself and Christina Aguilera.
Cher is also considering going back on tour once her current stint at Caesars Palace runs out, even though her three year, $250 million grossing ‘Farewell Tour’ was supposed to be her last.
Oh, and if Cher wasn’t enough to give you your diva fix then you can look out for the new Cyndi Lauper album which is due June.
Yay! I hope it has a song like Believe, didn't this icon start the auto tune trend? Great music coming out in June. I'm excited for Cyndi Lauper's new material. Time After Time, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, True Colors are my jams.

Yeah!
Can't wait for the album...but I don't think it will outsell Believe (20 million)...
