Animal lovers in China have questioned the management of a public zoo after a husky had been kept alongside a pack of wolves.
Concerns were expressed after a video, taken by a tourist, showed the dog limping inside the wolf enclosure at the Dezhou Zoo in Shandong Province, eastern China.
The zoo said in a statement yesterday that they had deliberately kept the two species together to 'add entertainment value', reported Huanqiu.com, an affiliation to People's Daily.
Absolutely disgusting. Not only is the husky injured but the wolves are too. What even is the point of having a zoo if you're not going to care for the animals? Not to mention endangering the life of a limping dog....
