• Presidential alto tone, unlike Hillary (for the subconsciously sexist voters)

• Centralist/moderate (can flip more swing states than Elizabeth Warren/Hillary Clinton)

• White, blonde and large appeal to white people (for the subconsciously racist voters)

• Democrat (would lock in minority voters assuming Republicans don't nominate a minority candidate)

• Good, clean record. Positive results and lack of controversies.

• Disabled child (a good card to play, think whatever you wanna think about me)

• Young (wouldn't face the stigma that Elizabeth Warren would face)

• Was just able to defeat Kelly Ayotte, a fairly popular senator

No female nominee for a long time. We need a hispanic male nominee

Hillary received more votes than Trump, I think America is ready for a female president (and would be even more ready in 2020, after a Trump presidency)

Would be viewed as too old to run for a woman (71 in 2020), too strong for a woman, too outspoken for a woman, too loud for a woman, too feminist for a woman, etc.

This is America you're talking about, I'd love to see Warren as POTUS but the bumps women have to face really do demand someone like Hassan.

Warren is also way too liberal to flip battleground states, particularly ones like NC, OH, FL, AZ, GA.

This isn't about the best choice anymore, it's about who can win.

Let's not forget that Democrats now need someone who can win over and appeal to white working-class voters, she passes that test by being both Governor and Senator of a state that's 96% white, and having a strong stance on immigration.

I'd love to see a progressive POTUS but the electoral college still exists, and the battleground states you need to cross the 270 magic line are mostly centrist.

I really like her. I was so happy that she won her race. Beating Ayotte especially in the year that it turned out to be nationally was no small feat.

A white working-class male is the only chance the Dems have of winning for the next 20 years. The resentment and tension is too great right now.

I just don't get it. Both her and Kamala Harris are moderates, why not pick the experienced one that has more potential to win over the white working-class demographic that Clinton lost?

Trump will be president in 4 years.

They should have Sanders, and have him lose. After a period of economic growth (bank- and top 1%-driven), there will be a big recession at the end of Trump's second term and the Democrats will be able to pull the 'I told you so' card.
A woman isn't going to win for a while. They need the white working class in the North back and only people like Sanders, who give the impression of being white working class themselves, can.
