I don't think DOMA is an issue right now.

My worry is with regards to all the federal judges that will be appointed by Trump (on the advice of the piece of ***** that surround him). It will make fighting for civil rights for gays, minorities and for humane immigration laws that much harder,

And I worry about the Department of Justice that Trump, Christie, Guliani, Pence and Newt will have in place.


I fear that when it comes to LGBT rights, the below might be a thing of the past.

I cannot stress how over America would be if the Supreme Court reversed marriage equality.

I don't believe anything can surprise me with the events in America at this point.

i honestly don't see this happening. a huge war will break out if marriage equality is reserved. a lot of people will get killed. then again, i don't live in america and some members that live in america and seem to know about politics says that this may happen which is just so disgusting. they won't win and get away with this! a lot of people will be fighting for you across the whole world. stay strong american members

The only bad thing that would happen if they do is that it would be up to the states to decide. I know we've done a lot of progress but it's really not a big deal.

The silver lining is that it goes back to the states to decide, and 30+ states have legalized it. It's the states that haven't that would have to work to make it a thing.

We need to stay strong.

The issue with them possibly repealing this, is that gay marriage is a popular idea with most people. Around 65% of Americans agree with gay marriage; 70% of millennials, 60% of generation X, and 50% of baby boomers. If they repeal such a popular law within the first two years, it'll really motivate democrats to vote for new senate and house members in 2018 and 2020, meaning the republicans will lose their majority and their control and they don't want that to happen.

If we make it past 2020 and still have republican majorities everywhere, then it's time to worry. But I wouldn't bother worrying about this until then.

This isn't going to happen. They're not going to revoke what has already been done.
