Currently, the Legislative Branch is controlled by Republicans. In January, the Executive Branch will come under Republican control, and shortly thereafter, the Judicial Branch will come under Republican control as more Justices retire.
What do you think this means for LGBT rights in America going forward?
Trump is pro-LGBT so I don't think anything will happen to destroy the progress made. Unfortunately I don't see much continued progress being made with his administration.
No doubt some people like Pence will try to do something but alot of the people surrounding Trump are socially liberal.
edit: I should mention though that Trump has made some anti-LGBT remarks but as with everything he's said, no one knows for sure if he meant it or said it to not alienate conservative votes. Either way, it shows he could possibly cave in to the bigotry of the right so I guess it'll really depend in the end.

I think many people are trying to find the silver lining in all of this, but we shouldn't fool ourselves into believing that Trump will pull off some kind of bait-and-switch. We should be ready to handle what they throw at us and fight back.
I don't see the court keeping same-sex marriage around within the next 2 years after the inauguration. I mean, Mike Pence's impact on Trump's opinions on LGBT individuals is where the main problem is.

Mike Pence is who the LGBT community should be worried about. Trump most likely couldn't care less.
I really don't think Trump cares, I don't think he personally would really do anything to improve or reverse gay rights. Pence and other people that would be in his administration as well as the justices he'd appoint to the Supreme Court is a different story.
I just worry that they'll overturn the Supreme courts decision and leave it up to the states to decide again. States in the south would have Russia like laws if it was up to them.
Omg will you guys stop saying this He's not anti-LGBT but he simply doesn't care. That means whatever his administration wants to enact, he's okay with when it comes to the LGBT.
This is one issue I wouldn't worry about. I don't think he's going to try to reverse LGBT rights in anyway. Everyone is in so much fear without knowing what's going to happen. I'm just doing my best to be hopeful, faithful, and to pray for our country. The only way we will know what is going to happen is going to be wait and let time do it's job.

He might not actively pursue LGBT issues, but his win might inspire people who hate LGBT people to propose legislation to reverse LGBT rights and oppress LGBT people.
