I've only ever had my immediate family, and they're not too into politics. I talked about it to my mom today on the phone, though, and we were in agreement, so no. I think it'd only bring us closer should tragedy befall us under his time in the office.
My mom I think is a lowkey Trump supporter and actually asked me today: " You think immigrants should be allowed here? I'm seriously done with this discussion..""
I dragged my mom today, it had to be done. She voted for him blindly and didnt even bother to look further into the election and realize what was at stake by supporting him. She’s an immigrant, she has a gay son.. yet she still voted for that man. She said that she was unaware of how anti-LGBT Trump Pence is. I also let her know that all her gay friends that she proudly has probably would want nothing to do with her if they knew her ignorant views. Its disappointing, my grandparents did not come to this country to raise a daughter who would later on contribute to ruining it by voting for a dictator who is hatefully anti-immigration.
No. I don't like cutting people out of my lives over anything, but thankfully I haven't encountered any absolutely ridiculous statements from family members. I've had some discussions/debates and heard them out, disagreed, but life is going on.
No but I only have one family member. I can respect differing views. What I cannot respect are views that discriminate against people. Therefore anybody who voted or supported Donald are dead to me.
I'm discriminating against discriminators and I hate myself for hating people who have made me hate them because they're so hateful
Surprisingly, no. In fact, it's helped my family become closer. My mom's a conservative but out of everyone in my family, I feel like she's the one most saddened by the results. She kept weeping after Trump was announced as president, and today she sent me and misters a text telling us to be strong and to endure racism in America
