Young people always tend towards Democrat. The 28-35 year-olds who are now voting Trump voted Democrat when they were younger as well. Same with the current 38-45 year-olds. But the truth is they've grown up, and learnt more about the reality of life and the world around them. They've learnt that decisions you make effect your future, and not everything is down to luck (which many people think when they're 18).
The flame won't be "nurtured and kept alive", what will happen is these kids will grow up and learn more about the world and what it's like to be away from your parents, what it's like to have children to care for, what it's like to have you own home to protect, what it's like to have bills to pay every months. Just like the kids from 10 years ago, and 20 years ago, and 30 years ago, they will learn more.
Similarly, the current 8-15 year-olds frankly don't know very much about life because they've spent their whole life living under the care of their parents and school teachers. Frankly, I think most of them would vote Democrat. Many of them will vote differently when they're 18-25.
And truth be told, if Donald Trump ran as a Democrat and ran against someone like Ted Cruz (who's Christian), I think a lot of the people complaining about him winning would have voted for him!
For some of you, it may be impossible to fathom why anybody would ever vote Republican, but chances are, you're a teenager living with your parents! That's why it's impossible for you to fathom, you haven't been let out into the real world yet, you're still living under the care of people. At college you also live under the care of people. Even on welfare you're also technically living under the care of people (taxpayers). To truly be in the real world you need to have a job and be funding your own life off your own work. Once you're living that life, even if you still don't vote Republican, you'd at least be able to understand why so many others do.
