I don't get why people are getting into arguments about GA and PCD, at the end of the day GA's sound was never going to translate worldwide, they had a very unique British style and grew into a monster of a pop act, who cares if they never made it worldwide.

Because there wasn't a demand for them outside the UK. And they are a typical basic group. Nothing extraordinary about them.. How many UK acts are promoting outside the UK but still going nowhere?

Even to this day, people are still hoping for a PCD reunion. Have GA promoted themselves globaly, they wouldn't have scrapped a quarter of what PCD has achieved. It doesn't matter if you shade Nicole or throw 0.05$ tantrums, but PCD is one of the celebrated girl groups of our time with just two albums.

The debut album went 2x Platinum here before Buttons was even a single... And they never promoted anything here. This is what global phenomenon is all about...
