I cannot believe some of you guys are ok with seeing people being stripped away from their family members...you are going to witness people literally being dragged out of their homes into trucks/buses etc and deported into terrible conditions. how are you guys ok with this? Have you guys forgotten that they are humans just like you or have you been desensitized to that point?

It is tragic, but these are grown adults that knowingly broke the law and shouldn't get a free pass for it based on emotional narratives. It's like people saying Brock Turner shouldn't be imprisoned, because it would hurt his family. Obviously, it's not a crime of the same magnitude, but the logic is the same objectivity. You break the law, you face the harsh consequences, case closed.

None of this will happen anyways, of course. It's not really feasible.

Trust me sis I can get very logical, realistic and even stern on so many controversial topics but in this case it is too difficult to only think in the binary of "legal vs illegal". This has entered a moral ground. This is a situation based on humanity. Are we going to become robots? are we going to forget our hearts? Before borders even existed people roamed freely in search of better living situations. it is human nature. are we going to ruin millions of lives for something that is so...innocent at its core? These people did not leave their homeland simply because they wanted to break the american law. they did it because they needed to. Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in policies and paper written laws that we forget that we are humans at the end of the day...we need to help each other

These are not just grown adults. These are adults that have children who are American citizens and have the same rights as everybody else. And don't even bother with the Brock Turner comparison, you know damn well what you're doing comparing immigrants to a rapist.

Funny that one of the main complaints about immigrants is that they don't pay taxes when the elected president brags about doing the same. And it's not that it's not 'feasible.'
