I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy that many Republicans (well of course not all of them) tend to exhibit when it comes to protecting their right-wing values.

And I brought up some excellent points like the fact that if they were to ever propose overturning LGBT rights (or something as ridiculous as forced conversion therapy), as well as minority rights in general, then why should they stop there? What's stopping them from getting rid of secularism as a whole?

And it's quite concerning that the bible (the book that many Republicans use as a guide) is against so much of what society partakes in like fornication (hell, it's a freaking ticket to hell, just the same as being gay ), alcohol consumption and non-belief in anything that is not xtianity and does support so many abhorrent things like slavery & women not even being allowed to speak in church among other things (dust off them cobwebs and read ppl). This stuff is REAL TEA and me just calling it out hits a nerve I guess. But this conversation needs to be had.

There's no if, they're definitely going to try it. The question is whether or not your neighbors, who just elected that man, will care enough to proactively stand in your defence or keep their heads down as it happens. Republicans overwhelmingly lose the lgbt+ vote, they have few concerns about you.

The real concern is the tens of millions of people you see and encounter every day who don't give a flying f*** what happens to you.

They may be able to, but that's not the most alarming issue at hand because It'll be tough for them to do so.

I'm mostly concerned about anti-LGBT discrimination, as all progress has been essentially nullified.

My greatest fear is that I'll have to spend my entire adult life afraid that anti-gay conservative Supreme Court justices could take away every right we have. I mean, marriage equality is really only the tip of the iceberg.


And not to be alarmist or anything, but when things start going anti-gay they get bad fast. Berlin was a gay hotspot before Hitler was elected, and soon we were in the concentration camps.
