Releasing multiple promo singles after the lead single and before the album dropped used to get much attention to the artists and actual build anticipation. The greatest example was Taylor Swift's Red campaign. But now with Spotify taking over do you think three or four promotional singles before the album release is still a great idea? I've seen a lot of people complaining here about overexposure and people getting tired even before the album comes out. With Meghan Trainor's Thank You as example.
To be honest, I don't see them actually causing any anticipation. Like, look at Little Mix. They've released 2 promo singles and if anything, it dwindled a lot of the fans anticipation for the album due to quality. They're releasing a third one this week. I think one promo single could work but only if it's by a big artist like Taylor.
