Jordin Sparks on Beyoncé & Rihanna

Sparks’ “Idol” run, when she was 17, established her as a mature singer of ballads. It’s an image Sparks has cultivated.

“Beyoncé and Rihanna are awesome in their own right,” Sparks said. “But the cool thing about me is I’m different. I mean they both have their niche. They both do what they do. They have their lovely dance songs. Beyoncé dances her butt off all the time and has an amazing voice. Rihanna has all of her hits which is so awesome. But I’m still me. I’m a ballad singer.”

she has an awesome voice. she just needs those celine dion, mariah carey, whitney houston type material for her ballads.

If Jordan wants to be successful then she needs to move outside of her "niche". Ballads are not popular right now, hence her poor chart performances.
