I never said it was the same in every society
Either way, the race you consider yourself is based on what people have told you, whether it's your family or people around you. Your race is based on your physical appearance or the physical appearance of you parents/grandparents.
People don't identify as a certain race, just like they don't identify as having a certain eye color or whatever.
Gender identity is something millions of people struggle with. I don't see why people want to defend being transracial so much, you aren't helping anyone.
