The network is developing a spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Sources say the comedy, from Big Bang co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and overseen by showrunner Steve Molaro, will center around the young version of Emmy winner Jim Parsons' Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Insiders describe the project as Malcolm in the Middle but with a young and potentially teenage version of Sheldon. None of the Big Bang Theory cast are said to be involved in the potential prequel series.

Idk how funny this would be since the girls make the show really (along with Sheldon, I just don't know if he can carry it himself).
Should just be an episode really.

Sheldon's relationship with his mother and his conservative Texas upbringing is one of the best things about his character, this is really good idea! Can't wait to watch it

It's run it's course and should've ended a couple seasons ago.

Who cares if it's still popular, if you're gonna use that logic then Lost, Breaking Bad, etc. should've kept going and risked damaging their reputations, right? Two and A Half Men faced the same dilemma and ended a few seasons past due.
