Should I spay my cat?

Is it really the best thing to do for the animal an owner when I don't want her to have kittens?

The procedure terrifies me because I don't want to hurt my cat in any way and I am also afraid she will loose her lovely personality and becomes like a vegetable (eating and sleeping only).

I want to do the best thing but I am confused.

Do you have a cat? What would you do if you were in my position? Have you had that done on your cat? What was your experience?

Does your cat go out, or does she always stay inside your house? Because if she tends to go out then you should definitely spay her.

I spayed my cat, and although she did sleep and eat for a while, she went back to being her old playful self after she healed.

SPAY. Both my cats are spayed. I don't really know why you'd be against it. The recovery time is fairly fast [a week if I recall].

The world is overpopulated with strays because people don't get their cats spayed. There's a service in my city that spays strays for free for this reason

spay, my cat still plays (she's 6 and a half already) but the screaming during the night when she was in heat we literally slept at family's for over a week, never again! it was all over after she was spayed

thanks for the advice. I am not against spaying I just want to learn more about spaying before I decided to let a vet operate on my cat.

Oh ok. Well it's such a common procedure, it will go fine. What I am against though is declawing.

Mine was male and he got into fights which cost him injuries. When they go out they are basically unprotected and can catch anything from other cats. Also make sure she's free of bugs and worms, these ****ers can be lethal.

Get her spayed. The overpopulation is horrible, and it will lower her risks of uterine and ovarian cancer.

Don't worry about the personality changing. My cat is still the baddest bitch around, and owns my dogs.

Where I live a cat has to be spayed before you adopt it. We adopted my cat last year and he's spayed. So you should spay your cat.
