I speak 4 languages and my irrelevant local one aside, German was/is the hardest to learn. I imagine Japanese and Mandarin would be harder though.

The only language I attempted to learn was Italian. I took it for 3 years and I can barely form a sentence. It wasn't hard, but I just didn't find it very useful and I barely learned anything in that class

Hungarian. Unrelated to any other European language (Hindi has more in common with European languages than Hungarian), has 18 cases, and words are impossible to memorize. 'Számítógép' means computer, for example. Oh, and they have 'definite' and 'indefinite' verbal forms which aren't found in any other language... Complicated af.

Why is everyone saying German is hard? Is it because it has a few cases or because you can form long words with it? All my friends who study German agree that it's pretty immediate

German is easy, people, try Hungarian or Finnish Japanese/Chinese are the hardest

Ddd i remember i had to do translations on ancient greek texts in high school, it was really ****ing hard and it is my native language but still people make a lot of grammar mistakes even if they are Greek
