Anyway, it turns out that the reason the settlement would “seem like nothing” was because Carey and Packer had already negotiated a $50 million premarital agreement for their marriage!
Carey and Packer could not get married until Carey was divorced from Cannon, so Carey went ahead and made the payment to Cannon and signed the divorce papers.
Very unfortunately for Carey, Packer broke up with her a few days later. Yes, her big fish just released himself from the hook and swam away. Ouch! So Carey had just paid out approximately $30 million to Cannon… and now had no chance of scoring that $50 million!
That’s why she went batsh*t crazy! That’s why she threatened to sue Packer for $50 million! And that’s shy she is now hounding him by releasing their private correspondence!
