"This generations music is garbage that is why I listen 80's music"
You might heard of these phrases over and over from people in your daily life. But why do so many people try to shame catchy music when they know that indie song they play on the stereo is so horrific not even they like it. But they do all that bs in the name of being different. I prefer catchy fun bubble gum pop music like femme fatale or the fame than overly lyrical so called quality theme music any day. I do get all people have diff taste of music but cmon i can see through you when you say that crap.
If a song is on the radio and it's good, just bop to it. Nobody will think less of you. If you genuinely do not like anything on the radio, that's fine, but don't shame others for liking it.
It all depends on the song. I think Closer is a great song, for example. However, most hits these days favor production or "beats" over songwriting, it seems. A lot of the music I listen to is actually catchier than radio music imo; it just doesn't get played.
Some people just hate the bandwagon. I remember once i was playing my favorite pop song on the living room and our housemaids just sang along with it. Ewwwww!!
all one hits wonders trying to find that "catchy radio friendly music"
at least in the 00's you had a lot of different successful artists which different genres releasing different style of music with each new album, heck even different songs in the same album! I remember that every pop girl has had at least one ballad on her album, now they all do the same computer electronica/EDM on their albums without trying to sound different just to "bop!11" with it.
